Extending the JAY-Z brand. (The Hits Collection Vol. 1)


If there is anything i appreciate about the average American superstar hustle, it is their creative use of brand extensions. You see for them commercializing the fame and success is actually the big money spinner.

Unlike the average African artiste who earns revenue more from shows than album sales, the artists in the developed countries engage in extensive franchising and licensing deals. I believe strongly that the top class Nigerian celebrities are gradually positioning themselves for this already.

JayZ the current King of Hiphop in my books and in  most others anyways launched a website http://www.jayzhitscollection.com recently in anticipation of the release of the Jay-Z hit collection.

The Hits Collection Vol. 1: Collectors Edition Box, which includes Jay's autograph laser–etched on endcaps with platinum sound 40mm audio driver and inline mic for use with the included Skullcandy x RocNation headphones, crafted from stainless steel and aluminum, and comes with a poly carbonate, protective carrying case. Also included is a 100-page bound photo book with rare photos and numbered linen covered box with a debossed Jay-Z "DIAMOND" logo, a deluxe linen covered case with debossed Jay-Z "HANDS" LOGO. Included is a double CD with rarities and 32 pages of rare photos.
