15-year-old Kimberly Anyadike flew a single-engine Cessna across the U.S into the Guiness Book of records

Ok forgive me here,Kimberly makes me proud of being very Nigerian. Although she is Nigerian i doubt she has ever been here, but who cares, truth is I have been very lazy bout blogging about her for weeks until this morning, I learnt she taped an edition of the Tyra Banks show, and i couldn't hold meself back no more. some positive inspirations enjoy!

She departed with a dream and returned home a record-breaker.

Inspired by the Tuskeegee Airmen, 15-year-old Kimberly Anyadike flew a single-engine Cessna cross-country from her hometown ofCompton,Calif., toNewport News, Va.

Anyadike learned to fly at age 12 through the Compton-based Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum, which offers aviation lessons in an after-school program for disadvantaged youths, theLos Angeles Timesreported. It was their plane that she flew on her cross-country trip. The brave teenager came up with the idea for the trip on her own, the museum's founder,Robert Petgrave, told the Times.

"I told her it was going to be a daunting task, but she just said, 'Put it on. I got big shoulders,'" Petgrave said. Along for the historic ride were an adult safety pilot and 87-year-oldLevi Thornhill, one of the Tuskeegee Airmen during World War II.

"They left such a great legacy," Anyadike said of theU.S. Army Air Corps' all-black combat unit. "I had big shoes to fill. ... All they wanted to do was to be patriots for this country (US). They were told no, that they were stupid, that they didn't have cognitive development to fly planes. They didn't listen. They just did what they wanted to do."

About 50 Tuskeegee Airmen autographed the young pilot's plane during her journey, the Times reported.

"I wanted to inspire other kids to really believe in themselves," Anyadike said.

Selah Abrams, Top CNN/TimeWarner Production Engineer to Train Nigerian Music Producers & Entrepreneurs in Lagos.

Top Turner Studios (CNN, Cartoon Network, and TNT)/TimeWarner Company production engineer, Selah Abrams is set to storm Lagos, on the 21st of August, 2009 for the Future Moguls: MIX MOGULS and BIZ MOGULS seminars scheduled to take place in Nigeria between the 22nd of August, 2009 and 30th August, 2009. Selah Abrams who is also Chair of the Atlanta Audio Engineering Society would be training upcoming and professional Nigerian Music Producers, in the MIX MOGULS seminar on international music production, mixing and mastering techniques and would also train aspiring entrepreneurs in the BIZ MOGUL seminar on entrepreneurship ‘silicon valley’ style.

The MIX MOGULS seminar would be open to professional and amateur production engineers and music producers while the BIZ MOGULS seminar would be open to aspiring entrepreneurs and each seminar would cost twenty five thousand Naira Only (=N=25,000) per head.

Selah Abrams has received several international accolades for his skills and benevolence, part of which include: CNN MyHero Award, Georgia Outstanding Citizen (Cathy Cox, Sec'y of State), Selah’s specialties include: Media production, audio/video/broadcast engineering, graphic design, IT engineering and network design/troubleshooting, Media activism, social entrepreneurship, new media technologies, microfinance, and low-power fm radio setup.

Banky W. 'Strong thing' video shoot

I could'nt resist putting this up, as we already know Banky just shot the video for the hit track 'Strong thing' off his 'The W Experience' album here is the trailer and beheind the scenes pictures. The TENANT™: International Award winning Movie set to premiere in Lagos.

Lagos, Nigeria

Today, Broken Manacles Entertainment a Canadian based film production company owned by Nigerians, announced the forthcoming premiere of their multiple award winning movie called: The TENANT™.

Faced with the onerous challenge of breaking into Hollywood, the duo founded the film production company Broken Manacles Entertainment Inc. The movie which was written, produced, and directed by Jude Idada and Lucky Ejim, two Nigerian immigrants in Canada was shot in various locations in Canada and Nigeria with Dare ‘BabaDee’ Fasasi as co-director. The movie has already won international accolades which include: Audience Choice Award, Best Feature Film–(Hollywood Black Film Festival2009), Beverly Hills, California; Best Feature Film –(Moving Image Film festival2008), Toronto Canada.

The movie billed to premiere in Lagos sometime in October, 2009 at the cinemas tells the tale of the average African emigrant in search of a better future for himself and his family: Obinna, an African refugee in Canada, faces deportation in 30 days. When all hope seems lost, a chance confrontation with Timothy, his terminally ill landlord, provides him an opportunity to remain in the country. Timothy who is a former immigration officer makes him a deal; he will intervene in his pending deportation if Obinna finds his estranged daughter Nicole and convinces her to see him one last time before he dies. With the clock ticking, Obinna fights to save his dreams, in the course of which he stumbles on a discovery that will shake the very foundations of his beliefs.

So far the movie has been screened at various film festivals in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

In the words of the movie director Lucky Ejim: “…Some of the ideas that emanated from our research was the pain associated with the need to survive, to love and to forgive, but these words alone wasn’t enough to make an interesting film so we decided to quantify pain…”
